Chinese acrobats have shined in world-class competition, winning two top places at the 15th China Wuqiao International Circus Festival. Staged in Shijiazhuang in north China's Hebei Province, the event is a dazzling display of circus talent.
Participants have come from more than 20 countries, with top awards going to two Chinese teams - Wuqiao Acrobatic Art School, and the Jiangsu Sheyang Circus. Golds also went to the DPRK's Pyongyang National Circus and to Russia's Great state Classical Moscow Circus.
Five silver awards went to circuses from Mongolia, China, U.S. and France, and eight bronzes to troupes from the U.S., Canada, Germany, and Australia.
It made for a spectacular display of circus talent.
"It is really a pleasure to watch the performances. The performers are totally immersed in it, thus bringing us spectators into the atmosphere of the show," a visitor said.
The award ceremony will be held on the evening of October the 7th, but public performances will continue for four more days.
Known as the "oriental acrobatic arena", the China Wuqiao International Circus festival debuted in 1987 and has been held every other year since. It's considered one of the top-three acrobatic competitions in the world.
