四川茂县山体垮塌 40余户100余人被掩埋

Rescue operation underway in Maoxian county, Sichuan province, on June 24.

2017年6月24日，四川茂县抢险救援工作正在进行中。

A landslide that occurred in Southwest China's Sichuan province on Saturday morning smashed some 40 homes, where about 100 people are feared to be buried, according to sources with the authorities in Maoxian county.

据茂县当局消息，周六上午，四川西南部发生山体塌陷，约40户家庭被毁，恐约100人被埋。

The accident occured as a reult to heavy rainfall at around 6 am on June 24 at Xinmo village in Maoxian county of Aba Tibetan automonous prefecure, blocking a two kilometers of a river course. 

事故原因是6月24日凌晨6点左右阿坝藏族自治州茂县强降雨导致河道堵塞2公里。

Local goverment has launched a level I geological disaster and emergency response.  

当地政府已经启动Ⅰ级地质灾害应急响应。

A rescue operation is underway.

抢险救援工作正在进行中。
