A cooking gas plant has exploded in Nnewi, southeastern Nigeria.
The blast happened when a truck was discharging butane gas, at the facility in the town in Ananbra state. Customers waiting to refill their gas cylinders, were caught in the explosion. Red cross said the gas plant was completely destroyed, and several houses around the scene damaged.
The blast caused severe casualties, but authorities have yet to offer information on the exact death toll. We will keep you updated as we get more information on the blast.
