Footage of police officers rescuing babies from flood-hit areas of central China's Hunan Province have gone viral on social media.

More than 50 people, including women and children, were trapped in rising flood water in an apartment building.

By Wednesday, police in Loudi had rescued more than 19,300 people.

Two weeks after torrential rain began slamming southern Hunan Province, flood water is finally beginning to recede in some areas, including the provincial capital, Changsha.
