联合国报告称：2050年全球人口将达98亿

The United Nations said that the world population isexpected to reach 8.6 billion in 2030, and to hit 9.8billion by 2050, despite nearly universal lowerfertility rates.

联合国日前表示，尽管世界各地的生育率几乎都有所下降，但世界人口仍将在2030年达到86亿，到2050年达到98亿。

The world population is now at least 7.6 billion, upfrom 7.4 billion last year, spurred by the relativelyhigh levels of fertility in developing countries,revealed World Population Prospects: The 2017Revision.

《世界人口展望》2017年修订版显示，在发展中国家相对较高的生育率的推动下，世界人口从去年的74亿增至目前的至少76亿。

"With roughly 83 million people being added to the world's population every year, the upwardtrend in population size is expected to continue, even assuming that fertility levels willcontinue to decline," said the UN department of Economic and Social Affairs, which producesthe report.

The lower fertility rates are resulting in an ageing population, with the number of people aged60 or over expected to more than double by 2050 and triple by 2100, from the current 962million to 3.1 billion, the report noted.

报告指出，生育率降低正导致人口老龄化，60岁或以上人口数量到2050年预计将增加一倍以上，到2100年增加两倍，从目前的9.62亿增至31亿。

The population of India, which currently ranks as the second most populous country with 1.3billion inhabitants, will surpass China's 1.4 billion citizens, by 2024, the report predicted.

By 2050, the third most populous country will be Nigeria, which currently ranks seventh and ispoised to replace the US.
