At least one person from the Chinese mainland and four from Taiwan were killed in the attack on a casino in the Philippine capital Manila on Friday morning, the Chinese embassy in the Philippines said on Saturday.
At least 38 people were killed after a gunman opened fire in the casino and lit fires.
The embassy launched an emergency response mechanism to deal with the aftermath of the incident. Officials have also extended their condolences to victims' families and will offer assistance.
