President Xi Jinping and other top leaders visited the Museum of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance against Japanese Aggression to watch a new exhibition -- “Great Victory, historical Contributions” -- on July 7, which marked the 78th anniversary of the beginning of the war against Japanese aggression.

“Remembering history is to open up to the future ... forgetting history is a betrayal,” Xi, also general secretary of the central Committee of the Communist Party of China, said during the visit.

The other members of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee — Li Keqiang, Zhang Dejiang, Yu Zhengsheng, Liu Yunshan, Wang Qishan and Zhang Gaoli — were also present.
