Xinjiang promotes ethnic unity

UMQI, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has decided to promote ethnic unity through "the year of ethnic unity."

A meeting on Monday underscored the contact, communication and integration among all ethnic groups and law-based governance.

The meeting also highlighted the task of improving people's well-being and urged significant advances in ethnic unity through solving problems.
