Apple has registered three domain names related to the auto industry, so start firing up the rumor mill.

As spotted by MacRumors, the company has registered the domain names apple.cars, apple.car and apple.auto. None of the domains are active, but all were registered in December.

The speculation around an Apple car has been happening in earnest over the last year.
