习近平会见国民党荣誉主席连战

The general Secretary of the Communist Party of China central Committee, Xi Jinping, will meet visiting Honorary Chairman of the Kuomintang, Lien Chan, in Beijing today.

Lien Chan arrived on Monday night for a four-day visit. His delegation of 80 representatives bringing together political dignitaries and business elites from Taiwan. During his stay in Beijing, Lien will visit sites showcasing the latest achievements in the city's urban and rural urban construction. The delegates will also attend a forum and exchange ideas with their mainland peers. 

This is Lien Chan's sixth visit to the Mainland. His groundbreaking visit was in April, 2005. His meeting with then CPC General Secretary Hu Jintao was the highest-level exchange across the Straits in 6 decades.
