The US Secretary of state John Kerry has arrived in Beijing on a two-day visit. It's Kerry’s second visit since he took office, and is at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
The two sides will discuss bilateral ties and other issues of common concern. Kerry's trip comes right after the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday. And analysts say there are high hopes in China that this being at the start of the Year of the Horse, bodes well for China-US ties.
China is the second leg of Kerry's six-day Asia tour, which started on Thursday. Kerry was in South Korea before this, and will next visit Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates.
