In this paper, based on the specialities of character variables, the authors introduce several func- tions in FoxPro, which break through the restrictions of 18-bit numerical precision, and can be used to pro- cess addition, substraction, multiplication and pision with hundred bits, and expand the ability of calcula- tion in database system.

利用字符变量的特性，突破了系统中１８位数字型数据精度的限制，可进行百位加、减、乘、除运算，扩展了数据库系统的计算能力。
