Lebanon's former prime minister Saad al-Hariri has accused Hezbollah of being involved in a deadly car bomb attack in downtown Beirut. At least six people were killed in the blast, including Hariri's adviser and former minister, Mohamad Shattah.
Hariri believes five Hezbollah suspects indicted for the killing of his father in 2005 are behind the attack. The five suspects are fleeing international justice, with their trial due to open in The Hague in January.
The attack on Friday was reportedly targeting Shattah's convoy. Shattah, a Sunni Muslim, opposed Syrian president Bashar al-Assad. Witnesses say his car was completely destroyed in the attack.
