日本东京暴雪积雪27厘米 400航班停运

A week after Tokyo saw its heaviest snowfall in 45 years, the Japanese capital is struck again by a new round of snowstorm. And with it showing no signs of ceasing since Friday, the record is likely to be broken again.

Snow piled up as high as 27 centimeters in the city center. Around 400 flights have been canceled, leaving over 1,600 passengers stranded at Haneda Airport. Multiple highways were forced to close, and a railway rear-end collision left 18 injured. There were two deaths on Friday, and some 560 injured nationwide.

Some 16,000 families were left without power. according to the local weather authority, there’ll be heavier snowfall and stronger winds to come in eastern Japan.
