华春莹：日本领导人错误的历史观带来安全隐患

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying says the unwillingness shown by some Japanese leaders to confront historical issues has made the country a risk to regional peace and stability. She made the remarks following a US government report, which expressed concerns about Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s views on the Second World War.

Meanwhile, the ministry spokeswoman also responded to comments from Abe’s economic advisor Etsuro Honda, who earlier said that Japan requires strong economic support to build a stronger military against China. Hua said this revealed the true goal of Japan’s so-called "Abenomics" policy.

"Recently, the Japanese leaders have backtracked on historical issues, and some politicians have tried to deny or glorify the country’s history of aggression. The real intention of worshipping the Class-A war criminals of the Second World War is to challenge the outcomes of the world’s anti-fascist war and the post-war international order," Hua Chunying said.

"The comments by Japanese officials on "Abenomics" clearly show that it’s meant to enable military expansion for wars. The concept of letting economic development serve military affairs is identical to Japan’s pre-war militarist mindset," Hua said.
