埃及前总统穆巴拉克被判处终身监禁

CAIRO - Egypt's ex-president Hosni Mubarak was sentenced to life imprisonment on Saturday, the Cairo Criminal court said.

周六开罗刑事法庭表示埃及前总统穆巴拉克被判处终身监禁。

Presiding judge Ahmed Refaat announced that after 49 times of trial, the court decided to sentence Mubarak and ex-interior minister Habib Adli to life imprisonment for killing protesters in the massive demonstration last year.

经过49次庭审后，首席法官Ahmed Refaat宣布穆巴拉克及前内政部长 Habib Adli 因去年杀死大型示威活动中的抗议分子被判处终身监禁。

Adli's six assistant were acquitted, said Refaat.

Refaat表示Adli 的六位助手均已无罪释放。

Clashes erupted between lawyers and families of those killed in the demonstration after the verdict.

宣判后律师和示威活动中被害者家属间爆发了一定冲突。

Mubarak, 84, is charged with involvement in the killing of hundreds of protesters in Egypt's January-February unrest last year. He has pleaded innocent.

84岁的穆巴拉克被告于去年埃及一，二月动乱时期参与杀害数百名抗议者。不过他本人辩称自己无辜。
