Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders has won two more US states - Alaska and Washington, as he tries to close the gap on Hillary Clinton.
Sanders was aiming for a sweep of three Western states -Washington, Alaska and Hawaii. The results are yet to emerge for Hawaii. In spite of his victories, Bernie Sanders struggles to remain competitive and put a dent in Clinton's overall lead.
Western states have become must-win for Sanders. He lost by large margins in earlier contests in the South. Sanders and Clinton are competing to represent the Democratic Party in the November the 8th presidential election.
