At least two people were killed and 55 others injured in a gas explosion at a noodle restaurant in Hangzhou, eastern China's Zhejiang Province on Friday morning, according to the local government.

Among the wounded, 12 people sustained severe injuries.

A fire triggered by the blast has now been extinguished.
